This trek is a popular classic the experience of the lifetime,
starting from near Whisky Bridge (near brandynala); zanskar has
a harsh climate, is extremely dry and is almost totally isolated
during the winter. The scenery excellent views and fantastic landscape
in the changing light in this trek. Between the Himalayan and the
Indus valley and to the west of the Rupshu region can be found the
isolated valley Zanskar, the population of which is Buddhist. There
are many high passes but since it is too difficult to pass through
its gorges, the Zanskar River cuts its way through it all, across
flatlands and sown canyons, adding a surrealistic touch to the scene.
We finally walk into lamayuru where the trek ends. Enroute we see
monasteries built as early as the 10th centuries. When we last day
we had lunch in alchi. Alchi is a village and monasteries name and
that is famous monasteries built in 11th century after lunch we
visit that monasteries.
