Central Bhutan Tour - 9 Days

Day 1- DEL-PBH flight into Bhutan gives you a spectacular experience, witnessing the chain of majestic Himalayan's peaks. You will descend to the Druk Yul's beautiful Paro valley with Dzongs and winding Paro chu river. You will be picked up be our guide from the Air-Port. Overnight at hotel.

Day 2- Sight seeing at Paro - visiting Ta Dzong-National Museum, Drukgyel Dzong-the fortress which helped to repel the numerous Tibetan attacks from the north, 'Mountain of the Goddess'-Chomolhari, Taktshang Monastery 'The Tiger's Nest, etc. After drive up to Chelala Pass to watch flowers esp. during months of June-August.

Day 3 - An hour and a half drive to the capital - Thimphu, passing apple orchards, farm houses, etc. Thimphu is above 8000ft. from sea level where you can see upper mothithang Zoo[Takin], Memorial Chorten built in the name of our Lt. Third king. Visit various handicraft centers, Art school, Tashichhodzong, etc. Overnight at hotel.

Day 4- Early morning, after break fast, drive east to gangtey via Punakha and Wangdi crossing the Dochula Pass at 10000 ft high from where you can see some highest peaks including famous Gangar Punsum. You will descend through temperate forest down to semi-tropical zone to Punakha. Five hundred years old Punakha Dzong was the winter capital for last three hundred years. It is the winter home to the Je Khenpo the Chief Abbot. Drive to nearby town, Wangdi and then to the beautiful open valley - Gangtey where you can watch the Black Necked Cranes especially during November. Overnight at Lodge.

Day 5 - Gangtey to Bumthang via Trongsa is of six hrs drive. You will pass by Pelela Pass over viewing the Black Mountain, and will reach Trongsa crossing Mangde Chu. Trongsa is 7220ft. above sea level having most impressive Dzong built in 1647. Drive to Bumthang.

Day 6&7 - Bumthang is a most beautiful valley you can visit in Bhutan. Heaven for trekkers and hikers. You can see different Dzongs with different stories behind it.

Day 8 - Drive back to Thimphu the same way of approx. 10 hrs journey. Overnight at hotel.

Day 9 - Early leave the hotel to catch the flight to Bangkok/Delhi.

Included services provided by Kirat Treks are:

Airport transfer, deluxe hotel reservation (additional nights can be arranged in advance if you would like to stay a little longer, or arrive earlier), guided sightseeing in India according to the iterenaries and ground transportation, air transportation to trek, National Park entrance fee and all trekking permits.

While trekking you will be provided with a double occupancy tent with a mattress, All meals provided by our experienced staff within the comfort of a dinning tent, portable oxygen chamber and oxygen for high elevation trekking, and toilet tent. All of our senior guides have many years of trekking experience in this region, ranging from ten to twenty five years of trekking in the area. They are also conversant in English and other languages.
